THE SEARCH OF THE ROVASIO AND THE GENEALOGICAL RECONSTRUCTION

I believe it is important to make available, on this Web page, all material I have found in order to allow, in the first place all Rovasios, to visualize those documents surely interesting to them. It is for this reason that I ask also collaboration and help, repeating that it is for me important to have as much as possible information either from people called Rovasio, and from persons who know someone associated with this last name. RESULTS OF THE SEARCH
If I will succeed one day I will send to them a copy of these Web pages. The Rovasio in all telephone directories have various origins: this search has allowed me to understand that people with Rovasio last name, have all origin from the Piemonte (Nord-West area of Italy)!!! |
The criteria used in this search of all existing Rovasio have been: lists in telephone books with the Rovasio name; contacts with all Rovasio found in telephone directories; search, through the search engines of Internet, of the Rovasio name; e-mail to all the Rovasio found; historical search of the Rovasio of my familiar unit (see: historical signs of Rovasio); attempt of genealogical reconstruction of all the Rovasio existing; search through the expert societies in genealogical trees. |

THE ROVASIO FAMILIES FROM SARDINIA (SASSARI AND CAGLIARI): In particular the family group from Sassari, coming from Piemonte region too, is the much numerous one with various ramifications. Rather curious fact is that one told me from Lawyer Enzo Rovasio of Sassari on its grandfather. Rovasio lawyer was a most likable far away relative; he died at the beautiful age of 95 years. Its grandfather, Giovanni Antonio Rovasio (Bersaglieri Officer) participated to the Rubble of Devout Door (year 1860). The great-grandfather "bersagliere" was born in Province of Asti and emigrated in Sardinia in 1881. The family conserve one precious sword like historical relic. According to a genealogy pseudo-association the Sassari group, comes from Spain, including therefore the Rovasio from Piemonte region: completely incorrect. The society arrives to these conclusions because evidently it has found various nuclei of Rovasio to Sassari on its lists of the telephone and it has ' invented this thesis that does not have historical foundation. The documented ‘allocation’ of the Rovasio in Piemonte region is demonstrated in more parts. He would be sufficient to make searches series and not to invent thesis in order to snatch money. The family group from Cagliari, not legacy familiarly with that one of Sassari, has origin from the Piemonte, too. Giuseppe Rovasio, apparently born in Asti but he used to live in Turin, he moved in fact in the second half of the 800 to Cagliari and, at the moment, it is not known which tie is with the Asti family groups. |
ROVASIO IN ITALY
ROVASIO FROM ASTI:
In Asti there are currently 2 family groups, one become Rovasio from Roasio and therefore not interesting from the point of view of the search, and the other Rovasio very well documented in the historical registry office of Asti to acquire. The family ties with other stocks are still not known.

ROVASIO FROM TURIN (AND SURROUNDINGS):
There are at least 3 family units between Turin and Province, that one of my family that is the most complete in this search (see: Historical sign section), and others 2 units that familiarly are not connected neither with mine or between them, at least in the last century.
NB: This is an example of the reconstruction of familiar units without possibility at the moment to link the groups with each other, the reason is determined from the lack of information of the only living Rovasio unit.
This family unit, as for the previous one it lacks the dowel to link to that one of Piossasco and to that one of Gassino, also it lacks of precise information here about the origin.
ROVASIO IN FRANCE
I rovasio che vivono in Francia (regione della Savoia) hanno provenienza italiana, precisamente dalla provincia di Torino, l'emigrazione risale alla seconda metà dell'"800. La relazione di parentela pare corrispondere a quella del 2° gruppo dei Rovasio di Torino.

ROVASIO FROM ARGENTINA:
In Argentine there are two great family unit with this last name, not legacies between them. Interesting is the fact that there are at least fifty Rovasio in telephone book, many more than in Italy. However, they are groups of Rovasio coming from family unit quite probably from the Piemonte region. In this case many information lack, too. The group of Alessandro Rovasio, co-author of this search, has limited acquaintances from the historical point of view. Their origin was believed of Genova (Liguria region), but only because from Genova all the ships of emigrating where heading to the New World, enclosed Argentine. We estimate the emigration of this Rovasio from the Piemonte towards Argentine around to the second half of the year 800 . In truth in the memory it is remembered to us that some grandfather or great-grandfather spoke with "piemontese" accent. We made request for a professional search to expert Argentines.

ROVASIO FROM U.S.A.:
It is important to mention of two Rovasio family groups
that live in Livermore (California). The Italian-Americans do not know anything
about their origin. Mike Rovasio very interested and much fan also of this search,
has made the reconstruction below illustrated. All the family ties with the
Rovasio Italian is missing. Interesting is the reconstruction recently received
from Bob Rovasio of which we still do not know anything, the reconstruction
is limited to the small amount of information we have.
